Spring 2009
Antiques Go Young! • Chicago Home + Garden Design Vignettes

Presented by:

Can antiques feel fresh and play well with modern elements in a room? Yes!

We challenge three local design pros with a penchant for modern to find antiques at The Fair to complete three vignettes on-site at The Mart. Gregory Jagmin of Jagmin Interiors, Julia Edelmann of Buckingham Interiors + Design, and Hillery Estes of Estes Interiors will design a foyer, a study, and a dining room on the spot at The Fair. Starting with a base of some modern furniture and accessories culled from The Mart's top showrooms, they'll shop the Fair to create a mix that works for modern interiors. Come see what they come up with!

Estes Interiors
With Estes Interiors, Hillery Estes has combined her passion for the arts and architecture with a classic but creative design style. While previously working for Nate Berkus Associates, she developed a sensibility for sophisticated, yet understated interiors. Hillery continues this aesthetic with Estes Interiors which she established in 2007. Her interiors meld together a variety of styles and periods into comfortable and inviting homes for her clients. Her subtle details and soothing color palettes make for quiet and sophisticated yet visually stunning interiors.

Jagmin Interiors
Greg Jagmin launched his namesake firm last December. Decorating came later in Jagmin’s career which began in the corporate world. After helping to establish Hudson Home Inc, a local design/build firm as well as Anne Coyle Interiors, Jagmin ventured out on his own.

His love of traditional and French antiques mixed with modern and one-of-a-find vintage elements -- and always hint of shine or two is evident in all rooms he designs.

He is also co-author of the “Design Brother” blog which he established with his brother Christopher. Visit them at http://designbrothers.wordpress.com.

Julia Buckingham Edelmann is the founder and owner of Buckingham ID, a North Shore interiors firm specializing in residential and commercial design. Julia travels around the world to provide her clients with intriguing one-of-a-kind accessories, textiles and artifacts and gets inspiration for her custom-designed furniture which is available exclusively for her clients.
